Package Item Descriptions:
Standard eBook Publishing (ePub & Mobi)
BookLogix will convert the author's final PDF book file to the major eBook formats (ePub & Mobi) compatible with the three major eReader devices (Kindle, iPad/iPhone, Nook). This includes adjusting the print version layout for device compatibility, eBook proofing, and inclusion of eISBNs. The author owns the converted files!
It is important to note that eBook files are not meant to look exactly like a printed book; they are meant to be a digital-device compatible version of the book. Changes may be required in the manuscript before eBook conversion can begin.
BookLogix's editorial staff will review your manuscript and make a recommendation on what level, if any, of editing may be appropriate for your manuscript. Upon receiving their recommendation, you will have the option to add on recommended editorial service at additional costs. This evaluation does not include any editing of the work. During the editorial assessment, your manuscript may be considered for BookLogix's Select or Premiere publishing options. If you decide to add on editing to your package, you will receive a special 15% discount on the editorial service that you choose.
eBook Cover Design
Unlike a cover design for a book, an eBook cover design only requires the front cover. BookLogix's eBook cover design includes up to 3 large royalty-free images and up to two custom fonts. Author will work with design team to select image(s) to incorporate into their cover design. Then author will work with design team to select fonts and placement of title, author name, back cover text, and author photo. Designers will provide author with an initial cover design sample, followed by one revised cover sample based on author feedback. Additional changes beyond this may incur additional costs.
BookLogix's eBook layout includes the option to choose from two different eBook appropriate layout styles provided by the design team. Once a style is chosen, the designers will begin to layout your text as appropriate and incorporate any images. Image insertions are determined by the package chosen.
Graphics help your book come to life. Photos, tables, charts, diagrams, drawings, and anything else that is not text or would be considered a graphic. Each package includes a predetermined number of graphic insertions that are allotted. If you wish to add more graphics you may do so for $1.00/image. All graphics provided must be in PDF, jpeg, png, or tiff formats. Don't have a digital file for that photo you want to include? BookLogix can scan and convert the image for you for $1.00 per image. If your manuscript has graphics that need to be inserted, you must have text placeholders indicating where the graphic(s) are to be placed. All graphics are produced and printed in black and white.
BookLogix will provide you with an electronic PDF copy of your cover and text for you to review after revisions have been made. Electronic Proofs are sent through a secure file sharing service and are locked and watermarked. Electronic Proofs are meant for your review only.
Rounds of Complimentary Revisions After Proof
Need to make a change before going to print? That's okay! Each package allows an allotted number of revision rounds after the proof. All revisions must be submitted in writing to your publishing consultant for review. Revision Rounds include both interior revisions and cover revisions. Additional revision rounds are $75.00. Interior revisions are modifications to your existing Interior. Types of changes include: changing punctuation, spelling, or your author photo. Cover revisions are modifications to your existing cover. Types of changes include shifting cover elements, changing fonts, or changing the cover text. Additional changes are changes not listed in Interior and cover revisions are billable at a rate of $75.00/hour. Author may choose to pick up the proof or have it shipped via UPS. Shipping rates are not included in package pricing.
ISBN Assignment (Barcode Included)
The ISBN is a number used internationally by publishers, retailers, and distributors to identify each edition of a book. Each number is unique, so no other book or product can be associated with it. BookLogix will assign an ISBN for each edition of the book where applicable. ISBNs will be registered to BookLogix. Want to own your own ISBN? Add on a book of 10 ISBNs that will be registered in your name for only $350.00.
Online eBook Selling through Amazon, Apple iTunes, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo
BookLogix will list your eBook for sale through Amazon, Apple iBooks, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo. Royalties are paid for each copy sold.
One of BookLogix's marketing coordinators will meet with you to discuss recommended marketing activities, and the opportunities available for your book specifically. Once you have met with the marketing coordinator, they will provide you with a marketing proposal. Marketing activities included in your package are exempt from this, and any proposed marketing services beyond those allotted in your package will be available for you to add on to your package at additional costs. If you decide to add on these recommended services with your package, you will receive a 15% discount on additional purchased marketing services.
BookLogix will compose and distribute a press release to an identified media list specific to your book. The press release will promote the launch of the book.
